What is Maurten Gel?

Maurten Gels are designed for endurance sport. Unlike many traditional gels that are just syrupy mixes of water and carbohydrates, Maurten uses Hydrogel Technology. The gel is already in hydrogel form — so unlike other gels on the market, you don’t have to drink water to help the gel go down. Although rehydrating still matters.

Designed to help athletes consume carbohydrate fuel in smaller, more frequent doses, Gel 100 contains 25 grams of carbohydrates per sachet (≈100 kcal).

Gel 100 Caf 100
Gel 100 Caf 100 is the same as Gel 100, but with caffeine. It contains 25 grams of carbohydrates per sachet (≈100 kcal) and 100 mg of caffeine per sachet. That’s approximately the equivalent of 1.5 espressos — or one cup of brewed coffee.

Gel 160
For athletes who want more carbohydrates than Gel 100 to fuel their training and racing — Gel 160 contains 40 grams of carbohydrates per sachet (≈160 kcal).

How can you consume a Maurten Gel?

There are several ways to consume Maurten Gels. Some athletes like to bite off small amounts gradually, letting the gel sit on the tongue. Test fueling with Maurten Gel in training and find the style that works the best.
