— track runner

French 1,500m specialist, Berenice Cleyet-Merle, has mastered the tipping point — the excruciating bliss — of racing at the limit. Where you’re beyond safety but there’s a still a buffer — still room for tactical intuition. Still something to give. That’s the 1,500m in a nutshell. And that’s what it takes to be a French national record holder.

I think that the best advice I could give to my younger self is that it's better to try something than to regret not trying it. Because we'll always regret not having dared and not having dreamed, whereas if we continue dreaming - and dream bigger - if we dare to get out of our comfort zone, then we have everything to win.

And above all stay true to yourself, because to be inspired is beautiful, and it's good to have examples, but if we ourselves want to inspire others, then we have no choice but to embrace our individuality and be ourselves.
