Matt Hauser – Triathlet
Standing on the start line at the Tokyo Olympics — the long journey back from shoulder reconstruction now complete — flicked a switch in Matt Hauser's head. He didn't want to be making up the numbers — he wanted to influence the race. He had to define his personal competitive purpose and appreciate that this was somewhere he belonged. All in. Race wins and a Commonwealth Games Bonze have followed. And in Hamburg he ran the fastest WTCS 5km in history — 13.40.
“I would tell my younger self to embrace the imperfections along the journey. Not one career is going to be the perfect combination of results in career success. But rather to focus on the day-to-day moments. Always smile, Take nothing for granted, and good things will come.” — Matt Hauser.
