Depending on the number of points that you have, you will belong to different member segment groups where you will receive benefits in various ways, depending on your level of engagement. The membership is linked to a personal page that you can find when logged in on Maurten.com.
1.2 These Terms apply to your membership during the duration of your membership. Maurten reserves the right to continuously update and amend these Terms. You can find the latest version of the Terms here. In case of major changes to our Terms, we will send the updated Terms to your registered email. You can always oppose the updated Terms and terminate your membership according to the process set out below.
1.3 Maurten reserves the right to unilaterally block or exclude any member, without prior notice to such member, in the event of misuse (including suspected misuse) of the membership, inactivity of the membership, breach of these Terms, fraud and/or other similar events or conduct.
2.1 Maurten Membership is a free membership. To apply for the membership, you must be 18 years of age or older and register an email. Only private individuals can apply for the Maurten Membership. The membership is personal and non-transferable.
2.2 You apply for the membership through our membership page on Maurten.com. In the application, you will need to provide your personal details such as name, email address and country of residence. By submitting your application, you certify that you are of the age required to be defined as an adult in accordance with the applicable local legislation in the country or area where you reside; alternatively that you have reached the age of 16 and have your guardian's consent to apply for the membership.
2.3 Maurten will process your personal data to administer your membership and provide you with any benefits announced. Maurten reserves the right to deny any applicant of the membership. Maurten will let you know when your membership has been accepted and activated or denied.
2.4 Once your membership is active, you will have the opportunity to create a user account on our Website. The user account is connected to your personal page concerning the membership where you can:
2.5 You are responsible for all activities carried out on your user account. You undertake not to use the user account for fraudulent or illegal purposes. You are responsible for ensuring that your login details do not fall into the hands of others. If you think someone may have found out your login details, we recommend that you change your password immediately.
3.1 Members can collect points through purchasing products, on maurten.com, or through participating in point-based activities organized by Maurten, or by our selected partners. For more information about the collection of points through point-based activities, please refer to section 3.3. The more points you collect, the higher your membership segment and the more exclusive benefits you get.
3.2.1 All registered purchases on our Website give bonus points where 1 unit and/or more of the local currency in your country of residence equals 1 point depending on the local currency. To view exactly how many points your local currency generates, please visit this page. All purchases on the Website give you points (shipping costs are excluded). Your points are registered when you have placed your order.
3.2.2 Points for purchases cannot be registered after the purchase is complete. Therefore, be sure to always be logged in to your user account when placing an order on the Website in order to not miss registering any points.
3.2.3 In the case of return of any purchases made, Maurten will deduct the points that correspond to the purchase, on the day of the return, regardless of the date of purchase.
3.3.1 Members can collect points through engaging in other activities which generate a pre-decided number of points to your membership. You can receive information about the different point-based activities, what they consist of, and how many points they generate on your account page – each point-generating activity will have an associated number of points beside it. The point-based activities can consist of, for example: completing a Strava challenge, subscribing to Maurten’s newsletter etc. We reserve the right to update/amend the list of any point-based activities at any time during the duration of your membership.
3.3.2 In order to register your point-based activities on your membership, you must be logged in to your personal account on maurten.com at the time of the activity. For third-party activities, you must register through the channel linked on your membership profile.
In order to join the membership, you need to enter your personal information and select the box “Join the Maurten Membership”. An existing account on maurten.com, or creating an account without selecting the aforementioned checkbox, does not automatically make you a member. It is possible to upgrade a normal account to a membership account by logging in to your profile here (maurten.com/profile) and selecting “Activate account”.
4.1 The Maurten Membership consists of 3 membership segments, and as a member you fall within one of them. The more points you collect, the higher the membership segment and the more exclusive offers you will get. See the scale of membership segments below:
Points |
Member Segment |
0-900 |
Level 1 |
901-2,000 |
Level 2 |
2,001-3,000 |
Level 3 |
4.2 Your current membership segment is based on your total points over the last 12 months. Your points (only encompassing points based on purchases and other point-based activities which are activities that are recurring, meaning that points can be generated more than once) will therefore reset to 0 every 12 months. Every day, we count how many points you have earned in the last 12 months. When you reach the point level that entitles you to a new membership segment, your membership will be upgraded to the new segment. When you reach a new membership segment, you stay there for at least 12 months, unless during the same period you have a points balance that entitles you to a higher segment. Every time you reach a higher segment, you are thus protected from downgrading for 12 months (quarantine period).
4.3 You can see your points balance and current membership segment by logging into your user account on the Website.
4.4 As a member, you can always find up-to-date information on your membership segment and your current benefits on your personal page under your user account.
5.2 The higher membership segment you belong to, the more exclusive benefits you will receive. We are committed to ensuring that you as a member always have certain membership benefits, such as: early access to new/limited products, access to discounted soon-to-be expired products, access to certain lotteries, free shipping on certain specified orders etc.
5.3 The membership benefits vary and are adapted to our members, season, and time of year. We do not guarantee that your membership benefits will always be the same and we reserve the right to remove, change, replace and/or offer you new benefits at any time.
5.4.1 As a member you may receive relevant offers and/or discounts that we think you will enjoy. In order to provide you with such unique benefits, we may need to process your personal data in the form of contact details, profile information, in some cases purchase history, and restricted information inserted by you appearing in your Strava account under “description”, if you have connected your Strava account to your Maurten Membership. The processing of this data is necessary for us in order to provide you with personalized benefits.
5.4.2 To fulfill this commitment of providing personalized benefits, Maurten will analyze the information collected about you, including your membership segment, to understand which personalized benefits are right for you. For example, using your personal information, we will be able to provide you with special offers on products that we think you will like.
In order for you to be able to take advantage of benefits and receive information about your membership or other exciting things happening at Maurten, you will receive communication from us through different channels, e.g. via email and text messages. You have the option to opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by adjusting your account settings on your user account or by clicking on the link provided in the respective message. For this purpose, we will process your personal data such as email address and phone number.
7.1 Your Maurten Membership runs on a current account and until further notice from the date you become a member (meaning once Maurten has accepted your membership).
7.2 You can cancel your Maurten Membership at any time. To cancel your Maurten Membership, you should contact Maurten's customer service at help@maurten.com, or use any unsubscribe link connected to the membership page. Your Maurten Membership will be automatically terminated if you have been inactive, i.e. not purchased any products or conducted any other point-based activity within 24 months.
7.3 If you or Maurten terminates your membership, you will lose the points and any benefits you have earned as well as the services that come with the membership.
Maurten is not responsible for any system errors or impaired functionality in the membership program or for any consequences thereof. Maurten bears no responsibility for losses or damages caused by exclusion, modification, or termination in any other way related to our membership program, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law.
In order to access your membership and register points through purchasing products or other point-based activities, you need to have internet access when doing so.
In order to fulfill our commitments in these Terms, we need to process your personal data. We describe how we process your personal data in these Terms, but we have also produced more detailed information about our processing of personal data which be found in our Privacy Policy here.
11.1 Disputes concerning the interpretation or application of these Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with Swedish law.
11.2 If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably with Maurten’s customer service, you may turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes ("ARN") by contacting ARN on their website here, or via their postal address below:
National Board for Consumer Disputes Box 174 101 23 Stockholm.
11.3 You can also submit a complaint directly online via the European Commission's platform for dispute resolution, which you can find here. If you submit a complaint through this platform, your case is automatically forwarded to the appropriate dispute resolution body. This body will then contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute without involving the courts.
11.4 Disputes shall ultimately be settled by a general court.
